Method 1 works for me (HKLM). I had a bad trojan/rootkit, had to clean it by booting from a Live CD (BartPE) as it had put a nasty, hidden, autorun.inf on the root of the system drive, and disabled the "Show hidden files" option. After cleaning, the option still didn't work. Thanks, that sorted it! :) Brilliant! Method 1 works for me (HKLM).
